Because environmental dynamics are always scale-dependant, different scales of observation have been chosen to reveal different aspects of glacio-fluvial dynamics. On a longterm scale, this chapter outlines the glacial dynamics of Val Roseg since the last ice age, when the present flood plain was formed and developed.
