We are successful scholars, researchers, and managers. As for myself, I also had to do a little thinking outside the box. If I was going to get this job, I had to reference my background in a slightly different manner than I normally would in a traditional academic library setting with highly specialized staffing. In a sense, I had to present myself not just as a skilled preservation librarian, but also as a successful manager with excellent communication skills. I had to convince my future employer that I was an adaptive thinker with an agile mind who would be willing to learn a number of new online systems and would be willing to accept a new range of duties.
