Mario is a sixty-year-old transgender man who comes from El Real de Mina, a small town about an hour and a half away from Mexico City. His father couldn’t afford to send him or his ten siblings to primary school. Mario eventually made his way to college, although he was forced to drop out in order to work. From the age of two, Mario knew that he wanted to live and be recognized as a man.
